I had seen articles and blog posts about this restaurant and I couldn't wait to experience it myself. And so I found myself at The Gallery at Sketch in London. It is actually a stone's throw from Tibits where D and I had dinner the night before.
We got there a bit early but we were seated straight away. We had a cosy table at the end of the room which allowed us to have a great view of everything that was going on around us.
Our neighbouring table was taking non-stop photos of themselves, the place, the food. It felt great not to be the only crazy one snapping away. Our waitress was a friendly and charming young French lady. We switched from English to French and really appreciated her service and explanations.
D and I selected the Champagne afternoon tea. It included a glass of champagne, finger sandwiches, a scone, pastries and tea (I selected Jasmine Pearls). Whilst a champagne refill was not included (we had to pay extra for our second round), we could order more finger sandwiches and pastries.
The whole experience was thoroughly delightful, just like I had imagined it. A final 'highlight' was a visit to the toilets which come in white egg-shaped containers.
