Saving

I have always found it very tricky to find the right foundation shade. On several occasions I ended up with high-end products that were just too dark for my skin and I would end up passing them on to my sister who is not as pale. Nowadays I just blend. And depending on the season, when I get a little tan, I can perfectly adjust the colour and get the most of my purchases.

I had been lusting after a Louis Vuitton black Epi Neverfull but et kann een net alles hun!, you can't always have it all. I found this much cheaper tote at H&M for a fraction of the price of the LV and I love this bag. It's very sturdy and it even has a top zip. I find it very useful for everyday life, shopping and carrying my work laptop. I took it to Brazil and it did the job. Expensive isn't always better.

Any thoughts?

  1. Expensive is certainly not always better. I have two travel bags, a Le Sportsec and another floral print from American brand called Stella and Dot. I almost never bring any of my nice bags on trips. I just know with airport, airplane, dirty floors and tables ik heart will just bleed thinking about putting my bags in those situation lol

  2. Im now lusting after your H&M tote, is very cosy and handy, I need one as this too, well done you found a great bargain! And regarding the foundation, put also a light powder, it helps the foundation to blend and last more!:) Have a goodnight Anouka, kisses! xo

  3. That's what mostly happens to me. I've quite pale so I always find trouble finding my shade, and even buying the lightest one depending on the brand, it seems to be dark!
So I just blend as well!
And I absolutely love your new tote! You're right about the fact that expensive isn't always better. It really depends. But I think you made a really smart purchase! xx

  4. For foundation I always buy the same one. After many searchs I have found that MAC is the brand that suits me better (I'm using mineralize now) - I am very pale too. I think the price is worth ir

  7. Matching foundation's such a fickle thing for me, too! To make things worse I tan easily, so I always need to mix or change shades between seasons. I love that bag by the way, it looks so chic and versatile!

  9. I hardly wear foundation now. I usually us the tinted moisturizer made by Laura Mercier. Check them out. They are really good. I can't believe that Louis Vuitton keeps increasing their prices. Doesn't make sense. Your bag from H & M is a good buy. Happy Weekend!

  12. I don't use foundation because I have a very problematic skin and it gets worse when I use. Of course expensive is not always better. I am very happy when I find something really nice and versatile at a good price! The bag is great! I need a huge one to carry my camera so I'm going to check if it's available on the stores here. .

  13. Finding the right foundation is so hard! I found my perfect shade about two years ago but now they removed that very shade from their range and the search starts again -.- Blending sounds like a good option but I have really pale skin and I feel like most brands only start their shades at a medium color...
