When I was travelling alone through Cinque Terre last October I met another solo traveller, a lady from Bath. She was telling me that it was a beautiful place and worth visiting. I had kept this in my mind.
The train journey from London Paddington to Bath took me about 80 minutes.
The train journey from London Paddington to Bath took me about 80 minutes.
The city area near the train station looked so clean. Almost cleaner than Luxembourg. I saw the same high street shops as the ones in London. They were perhaps a bit smaller but the shopping experience was a lot less stressful.
This is Bath Abbey. It's just next to the Roman Baths, the main attraction of the city.
I truly enjoyed the visit of the Roman Baths. An audio guide was included which helped me get a good idea about what life in "Aquea Sulis" must have been like.
Luckily there weren't many visitors on that day.
After the visit I was looking for a restaurant that a friend of mine who studied in Bath had recommended. Since I couldn't find it, I ended up having lunch at Wagamama.
I had Ebi Katsu: deep-fried prawns in panko breadcrumbs...
... and a Goma Wakame salad.
My main course was Raisukaree: Prawns stir-fried in a coconut and lime curry sauce with vegetables and rice.
Part 2 of my visit to Bath will follow in my next post.

Wow, what a nice trip!!! I love those buildings!!! =]

Great that you went there!!! It's always been on my list after seeing a certain movie mainly taking place there (can't remember the title) and then my brother went and loved it so definitely for my next trip to London if we are there for more than a w-e! And good to know there are great shops as well minus the stressful crowds!

So pleased you had a great time. After living in London for many years I now find myself living and working in Bath and every day I walk down the hill into the city I admire the beautiful views. I am looking forward to your next post...
ReplyDeleteI have never ventured to Bath I must admit but it looks like a fascinating, historic place, especially from these pictures. I love up north in England so quite far away from here but I would love to visit someday.
