As already stated in my previous Paris post, French cuisine was not on the menu this time. On our second day, we had a late lunch at Happy Days, an American 50s diner, near Les Halles.
The setting looked really authentic and I was very curious about the food.
I had a Beach Boys burger with two battered fish sticks.
My friend CB had an Americano burger. The food was so so. What we had at Moutarde Street the day before was certainly better.
After our late lunch it was already dark and we walked around the city centre. We came across an ice rink outside the Hôtel de Ville.
The patinoire (French for ice rink) was very crowded, all people were skating around clockwise and we decided not to go on.
We continued our evening walk through Le Marais, one of my favourite areas in Paris.
We wanted to see a bit of the Champs-Elysées and got off at Place de la Concorde. We were surprised to find a large Christmas market.
I was amazed by this large pan of tartiflette. We tried some but I have to say that the one I recently made tasted much better. No bragging!
It looks like we didn't do that much on our second day. Truth is, we had to save our energy for the next day which was going to be a long night... New Year's Eve!

Ah happy to see one more post of Paris! That tartiflette is huge indeed and how nice they made a patinoire facing l'hotel de ville! So NY style like the one on 5th avenue facing Rockefeller center!

PS: I know you did many travels last year but is your resolution of traveling less one take to do more things at home or to save money for something? I was sort of thinking the same, not that I really want to travel less but to save some money for our most probably move to Canada where I will have to travel less for sure, so this is a transition period, I've asked to get my 40hrs back at work so no more day off every 2 weeks (36 hrs schedule before). Hope I can survive ;)
I want to travel less because althought it's fun it can also be tiring and lonely (when I go on my solo trips). And I did so many trips during the past few years that I can't even remember most of them unless I write them down on a list. We must meet up somewhere in Europe before you move away! xo
DeleteWoah, I didn't really like Paris when I went but this just makes me want to go so much! Cool bar/restaurant place there! Where was that ?
