Italian dinner at Come Prima (Luxembourg)

I have been to Come Prima more than once and I am always happy with the meals they serve. Even one of my Italian friends recommends it so that must mean something. The food is always good and so is the service. A great place to meet friends in a cosy setting.

Wednesday

Dinner at Tokyo Sushi (Munich)

My initial plan was to have dinner at a traditional Bavarian place such as Hofbräu. As I found it too loud and stuffy, I decided to find an alternative and I ended up at... a sushi place. Other than airplane tablets, this must have been the smallest eating surface I have ever experienced at a restaurant. The food was ok, good enough if you are in a rush and not looking for a comfortable and pleasant setting.

Weekend trip to Munich Day 2

BMW stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works) and their headquarters are in Munich. There is a BMW museum and so on Sunday I went for a quick visit. The place is a mecca for all BMW lovers. Besides cars and motorcycles there are interactive displays explaining the mechanics and high tech specificities of the vehicles. I was very impressed by the futuristic building, the fascinating exhibits and the magnificent interior design. It felt like stepping into the year 2030.

The museum is right next to the Olympiapark where the Summer Olympic Games were held in 1972.

I had planned a walk through the famous English Garden but as it was raining I preferred to be indoors and I spent the afternoon at the Alte und Neue Pinakothek, home to significant paintings from the Middle Ages until the 19th century. Below are some photos from the Neue Pinakothek.

Two days in Munich is a little bit short; I could have stayed another day as there are more museums and sights to be visited. A reason to go back sometime in the future.

Monday

Lunch at Café "Am Marienplatz" (Munich)

Traditional Bavarian food at a reasonable price. The food was very good and so was the service; the waitress was a bit 'confused' as she had been out partying the night before.

The Dive

A week ago I acquired this print directly from the artist, Philippe Lamesch, who is also a friend of mine. It's entitled "The Dive". I like the bright colours and the mood it conveys. I am planning to display it in my living room. My next task is to find the perfect frame.

Do you like the print?
